The purpose of this study was to investigate the psychometric properties of the two-factor questionnaire of executive dysfunction among adolescents. The method of the research was descriptive and psychometric research. The statistical population of the research consisted of all the male students aged 12 to 18 years of East Azerbaijan province in the academic year of 1401-1401 in Iran. From this population, 1000 students were selected by multi-stage random sampling method, and their parents completed the two-factor questionnaire of adolescent executive dysfunction (TEXI) and also the behavior rating inventory of executive function, second edition. Finally, the questionnaire of 602 parents was analyzed. In order to check the reliability, the method of internal consistency, Cronbach's alpha, and the correlation coefficient between the questions and the total score were used, and to measure the validity, confirmatory factor analysis and criterion validity were used. The results of the research showed that the two-factor questionnaire of executive dysfunction has good reliability and validity. Also, the criterion validity of the questionnaire was confirmed (p<0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that the present questionnaire is a suitable tool for evaluating executive dysfunction among adolescents.

The aim of this study was to investigate of the psychometric properties of the Behavioral Emotion Regulation Questionnaire for adolescents and adults for first time in Iran. The present research was descriptive and of survey type. Translation and back-translation processes were used to prepare the Persian version of the Behavioral Emotion Regulation Questionnaire developed by Kraaij & Garnefski (2019). The statistical population of the present research was adolescents and adults in 2019. The sample included 461 adolescents who were selected through the multistage cluster random sampling method in the provinces of Tehran (Districts 2, 4, 11, and 20) and Isfahan (Isfahan, Shahr-e Reza, and Najaf Abad cities). The viewpoints of nine experts were gathered to assess the questionnaire’s face and content validities. Lawashe method and Waltz and Bausell method were used to calculate the content validity index. Construct validity was analyzed using factor analysis. The reliability of the scale was calculated using Cronbach’s alpha and test-retest methods. The results of the exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses showed that the five-factor model had a good fitness and its construct validity was confirmed, respectively. The face validity and content validity (CVI=0/84) were confirmed satisfactorily. The content validity indices were .82, .87, .86, .78 and .83 for the subscales of seeking distraction, withdrawal, actively approaching, seeking social support, and ignoring, respectively. The reliability coefficients for the subscales of the Behavioral Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, using Cronbach’s alpha, were found to be .88, .90, .91, .89 and .87, respectively. Additionally, reliability was calculated by the test-retest method and found to be between the range of .59 to .66. The results of the convergent and divergent validities between the Behavioral Emotion Regulation Questionnaire through its simultaneous implementation with the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire and the scale of depression, anxiety and stress were also examined and approved. Therefore, the Behavioral Emotion Regulation Questionnaire is a valid and reliable tool, and it can be used to assess the behavioral emotion regulation of individuals in psychological interventions in the Iranian society.

The aims of this study were to (1) investigate methods and functions of Non suicidal self-injury (NNSI); (2) examine association between NSSI and suicide probability in delinquent adolescents and adolescent with history of childhood maltreatment. Participants included 238 adolescents selected based on convenient sampling. The participants completed Non suicidal self injury behaviors checklist, Inventory of Non suicidal self- injury-functions and suicide probability scale. Results showed that 51% (31 from delinquent and 83 from another group) has at least 1 type of خودجرحی بدون NSSI behaviors which included cutting, burning, self-hitting, head-banging and rubbing. Suicide probability was significantly higher in adolescents with NSSI behaviors. Confirmatory factor analysis indicated group acceptance, marking distress, anti-suicide, self-affirmation, interpersonal boundaries, affect regulation and revenge as motivations extracted from Inventory of Statements about Self-Injury. Affect regulation, marking distress and group acceptance were motivations that predicted suicide probability.

Objective: The present study examined the mental health status of the adolescents in Shahid Dastgheyb and Namaziorphanages. This study is an applied type of survey. Method: Statistical population is the total number adolescents who are inhabitants of two orphanages of Shahid Dastghib and Namazi in city of Shiraz in the year 1389. The sample size is equal to the statistical population. To collect data the 28-GHQ Goldberg Questionnaire was applied. And the statistical methods used in this study are: mean ,Spearman correlation coefficient, binomial test and Mann – Whitney test. Results: The results show that: 1) Mental health of inhabitants of orphanages is fairly sound. 2) There are not any significant differences between boys and girls in components such as: physical symptoms, social function impairment, severe depression, and only the components of anxiety and sleep disturbance were significant. The results show anxiety and sleep disorder is more common in girls. 3) There is no difference among high school and guidance students in mental health status. 4) There is a slight negative correlation and significance between the indicator of mental health and age, which has a significance of 95% confidence level. Conclusion and Recommendations: In contrast to expectations, the low prevalence of mental health disorder symptoms in the adolescents residing the orphanages of Dastgheyb and Namazi in Shiraz indicates, that their mental health is fairly well. Although there is a very low prevalence of mental disorder cases , prevention is needed through appropriate planning, by developing mental health and counseling centers for sounder mental health education.
