Few studies have investigated how positive psychology can be applied for parents of children with intellectual disabilities. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of positive psychological intervention on self-efficacy, resilience and life expectancy mothers of children with intellectual disabilities. The semi-experimental research method was a pre-test-post-test design and follow-up with a control group. A sample of 20 mothers of children with intellectual disabilities were selected in a purposeful way and assigned to two experimental and control groups (10 people each group). The required information was collected through three questionnaires: Sherer General self-efficacy, Hope Schneider et al., and Connor and Davidson's resilience questionnaire. Participants were evaluated before the intervention, then positive psychological intervention was implemented for the experimental group in 6 sessions, and re-evaluated in the post-test and follow-up stage. The data were analyzed by repeated measures analysis of variance. The Results showed that positive psychological intervention improved self-efficacy, resilience and life expectancy in mothers of children with intellectual disabilities. Therefore, it is suggested to use this intervention to improve self-efficacy, resilience and life expectancy in mothers of children with intellectual disabilities.

The aim of Present study was study the effectiveness of therapy based on acceptance and commitment on Resiliency mothers of children with mental retardation. Study type was semi experimental, pretest-posttest design with control group and the follow up. Population include all mothers of children with mental retardation whose children were studying at exceptional schools in Dezful city in the academic year of 2016-2017. . 30 Mother were chosen with Multi-step cluster sampling method and assigned into tow experimental and control groups randomly (each group n=15). The experimental group received group therapy in 10 sessions of 90 minutes (2 session weekly)and The control group did not receive group therapy. The Instruments was Friborg Revised Resiliencyscale (2003). data analyzed with analyze of variance. The results showed that there is significant differences in level Posttest and Follow up between experimental and control groups in Resiliency (p>0/001). According to research findings, group therapy based on acceptance and commitment is an effective method in increasing the resiliency in mothers with mental retardation children.

The aim of current research was to study the structural modeling styles for attachment to God; resilience and mental health in mothers of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It’s a correlational design. The statistical population includes all of the mothers of elementary school children with intellectual and developmental disabilities who live in the city of Tabriz in the years 2014 and 2015. To fulfill the stated goal sampling 200 students were selected and the Connor- Davidson’s resilience inventory (2003) and Rowatt and Kirkpatrick’s attachment to God inventory (2002) and mental health inventory of Dragotis and et al (1976) were used to gather the data. Structural equation modeling revealed that among attachments to God, the secure attachment results in an increase in mental health; and the attachment with anxiety factors results in a reduction of mental health; and also the avoidance attachment results a reduction both in mental health and resilience. In addition, resilience was a reason to increase mental health; but resilience in the relation between attachment to God and mental health did not have any mediating role. In regard with the importance of the spiritually developmental constructions in raising positive effects on mental health and its application both on research areas and psychological interventions is suggested for mothers of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and other groups.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of religiosity and resilience in predicting marital stress in the mothers of children who were suffering from Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD). Method:The method of the research was correlation. The population consisted of mothers who had children withADHD in the city of Tehran. The research sample consisted of 100 mothers who were selected by the available sampling method. ADHD Assessment Scale, Marital Stress Scale, Conner-Davidson Resilience Scale and Religiosity Assessment Scale were used to gather data. Data were analyzed using regression analysis and Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: The results showed that religiosity and resiliencewere negatively correlated with marital stress. The results of regression analysis indicated that religiosity and resilience can negatively predict marital stress. Conclusion: Based on these resultsit can be concludedthat the level ofreligiosityandresilienceareimportantpredictorsof maritalstress. So, to reduce maritalstressit is recommended to considerthe role of religiosityand resilience components.

Thepresent paper aims atcomparing the attributionalstyle and resilience in students with visual or motor disabilities and normalstudents. In this applied and field research, the statistical populationincludes all normal and disabled students aged between 15 and 19 years old inSari and Qaemshahr Cities. 120 students (60students with visual and motor disability and 60 normal students) from the school of Sari and Qaemshahr cities participated in thestudy. All participants were asked to complete the attributional style questionnaire (ASQ) and (CD-RTS9) resilience questionnaire. Analysis of the data involved both descriptiveand inferential statistics including means, standard deviation, multivariateanalysis of variance, correlation coefficient and multivariate regression. The result of analysis of variance show that there isa significant difference between students with (visual and motor) disabilitiesand normal students in components of unpleasantinternal-external attribution, unpleasant temporary-stable attribution,geneal-specific attribution and resilience. This indicatesa more pessimistic attributionalstyle in the first group. There is a positive correlation betweenattributional style and resiliency. The regressionanalysis shows that the components of attributional style can predict theresiliency (p<0.01). The results of this study suggest that educationprofessionals should embark on planning and implementing combined therapeuticprograms for students with visual and motor disabilities who suffer fromemotional disorders

Objective: This study aims at predicting the general mental health based on resilience in adolescent siblings of students with intellectual disabilities.
Method: The present study is an applied research conducted by correlational methodology. The statistical population of this research includes all the adolescent (12–18 year-old) siblings of students with intellectual disabilities in Shiraz city in the academic year 2011–2012. The sample size is 91 adolescent (50 females and 41 males) siblings selected by random cluster sampling. Conner & Davidson resilience scale was applied to measure the resilience of siblings, and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ 28) was used for measuring mental health disorders.
Results: The data were analyzed by using multiple regression test, which show that resilience is a significant negative predictor of symptoms of somatic disorder, anxiety, social dysfunction and depression (p<0/01). These findings are indicative of the role and importance of resilience in mental health of siblings of students with intellectual disabilities. Therefore, in order to increase the mental health of adolescents, who have siblings with intellectual disabilities, resilience training programs should be designed and implemented as a pre-emptive action.
