This study investigates the effectiveness of a number sense instruction program for children at risk of math difficulties in the preschool age. This program was designed based on the fundamental components of number sense and through a developmental approach (e.g. quantity, number, line number, and connection number). First, 426 preschoolers were selected and assessed through two screening questionnaires (teacher form and parent form) and then, after execution of Jordan’s number sense test and number knowledge on these children, 90 children were identified at risk of math difficulties. Using quasi-experimental and random techniques, subjects were classified into two experimental and control groups The experimental group experienced instructional treatments for number sense for 45 minutes for eight weeks. Then, once again both experimental and control groups were evaluated by Jordan’s number understanding test. The results were analyzed using the MANCOVA method, which indicated a meaningful difference between experimental group students’ progression (under the influence of instructional treatment of number sense) in the items of counting, quantity and number relations with the control groups in post-test. The results also indicate that instruction of number sense for improvement of calculation skills in children with math difficulties would play a preventive role in math disabilities in elder ages.

One of the main reasons for maladaptive behaviors of students in schools, lack the ability to management of different emotions. The purpose of the present research was to examine the effectiveness of self-regulation ability training on decreasing aggressive behavior of maladjusted students. The research method was quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest design with control group. The statistical population consisted of all boy high school students in Rasht city, wich among them after performing maladjustment questionnaire a sample of 20 students were selected by random cluster sampling method and assigned in two groups control and experimental randomly. Self-regulation instruction was conducted for the experimental group in 9 sessions, while the control group received no training at all. The Bass and Perry (1992) and Student Adaptation Inventory (Sins & Singh, 1993) were used to collect of data. Finally data were analyzed using univariate and multivariate analysis of covariance. The results indicated that self-regulation training were significantly effective in aggression reduction. Also, experimental group in all four subscales (physical aggression, verbal aggression, anger, and hostility) achieved lower scores on the pretests than the posttest. Therefore, it can be concluded that self-regulatory education programs help to reduce aggressive behaviors by increasing the ability to adjust and manage excitement.

Having a child with Autistic Disorder can lead to experience unpleasant emotions in their parents. Therefore, This study aims to determine the effectiveness of reality therapy training to increase responsibility and happiness in the mothers of children with Autism disorder. This research was of a semi-experimental with pre-test and post-test and control group. By applying the available sampling, 31 mothers of children with Autism were selected and assigned randomly as experimental and control groups having 15 and 16 people respectively. The experimental group received group reality therapy training for seven treatment sessions (90 minutes for each session), while the control group was not exposed to any intervention. The data were collected using happiness questionnaire (Argyl) and responsibility (Gaff). The results of multivariate analysis indicated that there is significantly difference in scores of two groups in happiness and responsibility. thus, the group reality therapy training allows for a increase in the responsibility and happiness among mothers of the experimental group. According to the results obtained, group reality therapy training can be useful and applicable as the psychological therapeutic interventions for increasing happiness as well as responsibility in the mothers of children with Autism.

The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of executive function and social-emotional training on performance of continuous attention (the correct answer to image and numbers, reaction time about images and reaction time about numbers) among the girl students with learning disability in 3-5 grades at district 5 in Tehran. The method of this research was quasi-experimental and pre- test and post- test with control group design. For identifying students with mathematical learning disability was used Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders- 5, Raven test, and Iran Key math diagnostic test. Identified students were randomly assigned to two experimental groups and one control group (n= 7, in each group). They did performance of continuous attention test in pre-test and post-test. The first and second experimental groups received executive function and social-emotional training respectively, and control group did not receive any treatment. The data were analyzed with MANCOVA. Results showed that social-emotional training leads to improve performance of continuous attention (in the correct answer to images and numbers, and reaction time about numbers). Effectiveness of executive function training on performance of continuous attention is not significant, and there is not significant difference between the effects of executive function training and social - emotional training on the performance of continuous attention. In general, it can be concluded that sociol-emotional learning is a good way to increase performance of continuous attention in students with mathematical learning disorders.

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between parental stress, religious coping and marital adjustment in the parents of autistic children. The sample consisted of 124 mothers and fathers with autistic children who were selected from the available population in Mashhad. Data were collected from demographic information questionnaire, short form of Parenting Stress Index, Religious Coping Activity Scales, and Marital Adjustment Scale that the validity and reliability of those were collected in Iran. A descriptive correlation design was employed in this study. For data analysis, Pearson correlation test and stepwise regression were utilized. The results showed that there is a positive relationship between parental stress and positive religious coping with marital adjustment, and there is a negative and significant relationship between negative religious coping with marital adjustment. Therefore, it seems that parental stress and religious coping variables are important and effective factors in the marital adjustment of autistic children's parents.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of Adlerian parent training on the change of parenting styles of parents with children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. The research method was quasi-experimental with pre-and-post test and follow up design with control group. A total of 30 parents whose children were diagnosed with a diagnostic and statistical diagnostic manual for psychiatric disorders (2013), were selected by available sampling and randomly assigned to two groups of experimental and control groups. The research tools were Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder diagnostic (2013) questionnaire and Robinson parent style (2000) Inventory. parent training with Adlerian approach was accompolished in 10 sessions of 90- minutes. At the end and in follow up, the two groups of experiment and control completed the parenting style questionnaire as a post-test. data was analyzed using Repeated Measure. The results showed that this Adlerian parent training program did have a significant effect on increasing the Authoritative parenting style of mother and no father. It should also be noted that this parenting education program did not have a significant effect on authoritarian and permissive parenting style of mother and father. Accordingly we conclude that this Adlerian parent training program could change Authoritative parenting styles of mothers with Children with Attention- Deficit Hyperactivity/Disorder.
