This study aimed to develop a Response-to-Intervention (RtI) program in order to enhance spelling skill and to examine its effectiveness for third-grade students with spelling problems. The study was conducted in two stages including program development and utilizing evaluation a single-system design (AB). The study population consisted of third-grade students from the city of Karaj in the school year of 2015-216. Twenty students were selected as the sample using targeted sampling method. These students were incorporated in a three-tiered intervention based on response-to-intervention model (first tier included groups of five in nine 30-minute sessions, second tier consisting of groups of three in nine 45-minute sessions and the third tier including 12 individual one-hour sessions) and were trained for the developed program which was tailored for response-to-intervention model using direct instruction method. Measuring tools were the spelling test of Rezaei & Karimi (2013). According to the results of ICC, the developed program’s validity is 0.36, which is a good validity for implementation considering that P

The aim of current research was to study the structural modeling styles for attachment to God; resilience and mental health in mothers of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It’s a correlational design. The statistical population includes all of the mothers of elementary school children with intellectual and developmental disabilities who live in the city of Tabriz in the years 2014 and 2015. To fulfill the stated goal sampling 200 students were selected and the Connor- Davidson’s resilience inventory (2003) and Rowatt and Kirkpatrick’s attachment to God inventory (2002) and mental health inventory of Dragotis and et al (1976) were used to gather the data. Structural equation modeling revealed that among attachments to God, the secure attachment results in an increase in mental health; and the attachment with anxiety factors results in a reduction of mental health; and also the avoidance attachment results a reduction both in mental health and resilience. In addition, resilience was a reason to increase mental health; but resilience in the relation between attachment to God and mental health did not have any mediating role. In regard with the importance of the spiritually developmental constructions in raising positive effects on mental health and its application both on research areas and psychological interventions is suggested for mothers of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and other groups.

The present study aimed to compare the neuropsychological function of adults with Down syndrome with and without Alzheimer disease. Research method was descriptive. Population of study was adults with Down syndrome that were been keeping in the center of disabled and mentally retarded peoples in Tehran on a full-time basis or were involved in rehabilitative activities on a part-time basis. Using the convenient sampling method, number of 16 adults with Alzheimer disease and number of 16 adults without Alzheimer disease were selected through dementia screening questionnaire for individuals with intellectual disabilities and then for comparing the neuropsychological function of samples, we used the bender-gestalt test and Wechsler intelligence scale for children, fourth edition. We also use the two independent samples t-test for answering the research questions. Results of bender-gestalt test indicated a significant difference between adults with Alzheimer and those without Alzheimer in terms of the frequency of errors. In other word, the frequency of errors in adults with Alzheimer was more than adults without Alzheimer. Results of Wechsler intelligence scale for children indicated no significant difference between adults with Alzheimer and those without Alzheimer in terms of the test factors such as “General ability, cognitive mastery, verbal comprehension, perceptual reasoning, working memory and information processing speed” but there was a significant difference between the two groups in the subtests of Wechsler scale, In other word, non-Alzheimer group’s performance was better than Alzheimer group in the subtests.

The present study aims to investigate the effect of social skills training with the help of multimedia Instructional on self-esteem of students (6 to 11 years old) with learning disorder. For this purpose, through a quasi-experimental inquiry, among students with learning disorder in "Institute for learning disorders" located in the city of Karaj, 36 students were selected randomly and then equally divided into two groups: experimental and control groups. The research tool was a self-esteem questionnaire compiled by Caper Smitt and Abdolah Nejhad has confirmed its validity and its reliability has been calculated through Cronbach's alpha. During eight sessions experimental group were trained using realized multimedia software and control group was kept away from independent variable. To evaluate resultant changes, a pre-test was conducted on both groups. After pre-test the experimental group was exposed to the independent variable i.e. multimedia Instruction and then on both groups post-test was performed. In order to analyze data, statistical methods have been used both in descriptive level (Central indexes and dispersion) and in inferential level (covariance analysis). After reviewing pre-test scores and the age of the students, the results of covariance analysis showed that in the 6 to 11-year-old students with learning disorder, social behavior training by means of multimedia software has significantly increased their self-esteem.

The aim of the present study was to compare the self-determination and its dimensions between students with and without intellectual disability. Research methodology is the form of scientific-comparison. The population of the study consisted of all students with and without intellectual disability age 14 years and older which in educated year 91-92 are educating at schools in shiraz. The participans of this study were 120 students (60 with intellectual disability and 60 without intellectual disability) with age of 14 and above, which in targeted way were selected from the school related to with and without intellectual disability students. In this research, self-determination and its dimensions were evaluated by using Self-Determination Scale (Gomezvela.et.al,2012). In order to analysis the data, two way analyse of variance and repeated measures were used. The results indicated that students with intellectual disability gain lower score in self-determination rather than student without intellectual disability. Also there were not significant difference between boys and girls in total scores of self-determination, behavior autonomy and psychologically empowered dimensions. Only in self-realization there was a significant difference between girls and boys. The other results of this research is that, among the different dimension of self-determination between two groups students with and without intellectual disability, the higher rank accrued to psychological empowerment and the lower rank accrued to behavioral autonomy. Also according to the parents education levels, there was significant difference in total score of self-determination and its dimensions between both groups of students with and without intellectual disability.
