Assertiveness is considered as a significant factor in improving self-esteem and interpersonal relationships. Studies show that slow learner students have problem in self-confidence and interpersonal relationships. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of assertiveness skills training on improving self-esteem and peer relationships of slow learner students. The study design was experimental, running the pre-test, post-test, with a control group. 24 boys in third to sixth grades in Rudbaar were randomly assigned to control (n=12) and experimental group (n=12), and answered to Scale of Relationship between Peers (walter Hudson, 1997), and self-esteem questionnaire (Cooper Smith, 1967). Assertiveness skills training was performed during eight sixty-minute sessions for the experimental group while control group received no this training. Results of covariance analysis showed that assertiveness skills training improves peer relationships among slow learner students, and also increases total score of their self-esteem (P<0.001). The results of this research confirms that assertiveness skills training could be considered as an intervention to enhance self-esteem and peer relationships of slow learner students.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate right and left brain hemispheres’ capabilities in gifted students with and without learning disabilities. This causal-comparative study was conducted on 23 gifted students with learning disabilities (17 girls and 6 boys) and 29 gifted students (17 girls and 12 boys) who studied in third to fifth grades of elementary school in Shiraz. Purposive sampling was used to identify participants. Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-IV (2003), Screening Inventory Reading Test (2009), Torrance Creative Thinking Test, Keymath Test (1999), Reading and Dyslexia Test (2005) and The Kingore Observation Inventory (2001) were used as formal tools in this study. In addition, the state achievement tests, workbooks and teacher's comments were considered. The data in this study were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that there were significant differences between two groups in creativity, sense of humor, visual processing speed, fluid intelligence, and nonverbal fluid reasoning that relate to the capability of the right hemisphere (p< 0. 01). All abilities of the left hemisphere, there were a significant differences among gifted students and gifted students with learning disorders (p

The aims of this study were to (1) investigate methods and functions of Non suicidal self-injury (NNSI); (2) examine association between NSSI and suicide probability in delinquent adolescents and adolescent with history of childhood maltreatment. Participants included 238 adolescents selected based on convenient sampling. The participants completed Non suicidal self injury behaviors checklist, Inventory of Non suicidal self- injury-functions and suicide probability scale. Results showed that 51% (31 from delinquent and 83 from another group) has at least 1 type of خودجرحی بدون NSSI behaviors which included cutting, burning, self-hitting, head-banging and rubbing. Suicide probability was significantly higher in adolescents with NSSI behaviors. Confirmatory factor analysis indicated group acceptance, marking distress, anti-suicide, self-affirmation, interpersonal boundaries, affect regulation and revenge as motivations extracted from Inventory of Statements about Self-Injury. Affect regulation, marking distress and group acceptance were motivations that predicted suicide probability.

The statistical population of this research included all of the students with learning disabilities and normal students in Ardabil were year 91-92 school in Ardabil city school are. The sample consisted of 60 students (30 normal students and 30 students with learning disabilities) who were selected by random sampling. Students with learning disabilities selected and matched with students normal on the basis of age, gender and grade. false belief test, Trail making test, digit span are used for data collection. For the analysis of test data multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was used. The results showed that among students with and without learning disabilities in primary and secondary levels, there were significant differences in theory of mind. (p<0/0001). The results showed that the students with learning disabilities and normal students, there were significant difference in executive functions. (P<0/05). In children with learning disabilities can be said to have a theory of mind skills are impaired. Compared with normal children, children with learning disabilities who have a weak executive functions standardized assessment tools and interventions should be designed according to their.

The aim of the present study was to determine the effect of optimism training model by role-playing on reducing the rate of depression among low-vision girls in city of Tehran. This study was a quasi-experimental design with pretest- posttest with control group. For this mean, the available sampling method was used. 20 low-vision teenager girls with depression in “Narjes Blind School”, in the 2011 to 2012 academic year, was selected and randomly assigned in experimental and control groups. Experimental group during ten sessions were trained by group role-play, but the control group did not receive any training in this area. The research data collected by ‘adolescence and children depression test’ (CADS) and analyzed using ANCOVA test was used. The obtained results indicated that the training of optimism by role-playing have a significant impact in reducing of low-vision teenager depression (p<0/0001). So, this can be concluded that the optimism training method by role-playing was nearly stable effective in reduce depression rate of low-vision teenager girls.

The present study has been carried out to explore the effectiveness of reality therapy on the oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) symptom reduction among the students of the fifth and sixth grade in the city Tehran. The methodology has been of a quasi-experimental nature with a pretest posttest design and a control group. The statistical population has been composed of the male students of the fifth and sixth grade of the city Tehran in the academic year 1393-1394 and sampling was carried out by the multistage cluster random one. After the Children Symptom Inventory 4 (CSI-4) had been filled in by the teachers, 30 students with the points higher than the cut-off point in CSI-4 were selected and randomly assigned to the experimental and control group. The former group received 10 reality therapy sessions each for 90 minutes after which a posttest was given to them. To analyze the statistical data, a covariance method was applied as a result of which a meaningful reduction (p>0.001) was observed in the posttest intensity of ODD symptoms for the experimental group in comparison to the control one. Given the findings of the study, reality therapy is believed to contribute to the reduction of ODD symptoms among the students, rendering it as an effective intervention method.

present study examined the Fundamental factors in children disorders based on the Achenbach and Rescolar’s Child Behavior Checklist. Statistical society of the present research was the children and adolescents that were referred to health centers in second half of 1391. The sample sizes were 200 persons (88 boys and 112 girls) that were selected by accessible method. The instrument was Achenbach and Rescolar’s Child Behavior Checklist (2001). Exploratory factor analysis revealed three factors, internalizing and externalizing (anxiety) and physical health has been extracted. The results showed that both impaired thinking and attention problems caused by the presence of two factors: 1 and 3, the further to act as a common factor in Psychopathology of child. Three of Internalizing, Externalizing and somatization factors as disorders are centered that are detected by the Achenbach and Rescolar’s Child Behavior Checklist. Other problems such as thought, social and attention as Common factors are classified as significant. According to research Results can say suitable tool is Child Behavior Checklist for use in research and clinical situations.

This study examined the effect of communicational skills training on social anxiety in boys adolescents with intellectual disability in Yazd. The current investigation was Experimental method and design of this study was pretest-posttest with control group type and the population included boys with intellectual disability 11-20 years intellectual disability special schools in Yazd in the academic year 2014-2015. The sample of this study included 40 students that randomly selected and divided into experiment and control groups (20 persons in each group). The instruments used in this study was La Greca Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescents (SAS-A). The communicational skills training program including 12 sessions of 50 minutes was carried to the experimental group. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics such as independent t-test and variance analysis was used for data analysis. The Results of this study showed that there is a significant difference between experiment and control groups among social anxiety and all its dimension (p<0/01). The obtained results of data analysis demonstrated that communicational skills training decreased social anxiety (58%) and its components [fear of negative evaluation; social avoidance and distress in new situations; and social avoidance and distress-general (59/30%)] in adolescents of experimental group in compare with control group. Therefore, the research suggests to emphasis on communicational skills training for student with intellectual disability.
